On June 30th 2014, Russell Westbrook, who was in Europe for the Paris Fashion Week, took a detour via Le Locle to visit the Manufacture Zenith of which he is the ambassador.
This was an opportunity for him to discover the limited edition to which he has contributed, and to meet the watchmakers who have been working on developing it.
Without unveiling any details of the finished model at this stage, we can reveal that it will be a Pilot Type 20 Annual Calendar that the young man, known for his style sense, has reworked according to his own codes of elegance.
For several hours, the Manufacture hummed to the beat of the basketball player's steps as he roamed through the various workshops, taking an enthusiastic interest in the meticulous work of the artisans.
About Russell Westbrook:
Born in South Central, Los Angeles in 1988, Russell Westbrook played high school basketball for Leuzinger High School before playing two seasons of college basketball for the UCLA Bruins. Westbrook was selected in the first round of the 2008 NBA draft with the fourth overall pick by the Seattle SuperSonics, who relocated from Seattle to Oklahoma City. Westbrook holds two Gold medals for his participation in both the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey and the 2012 Men’s USA Olympic Championship in London. Known for his admirable offense on the court, the NBA All-Star currently serves as a point guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
